About Megan

Megan Olenick (she/her) is a Honduran-American cinematographer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, Megan received a BA in Film from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2017. Her thesis film, "An Arrangement of Skin", earned her a nomination for the Student Heritage Award by the American Society of Cinematographers for her outstanding visual work.

She has collaborated on several projects from feature films and shorts to music videos and stop motion animations. Most recently, she completed production on her first feature-length film, “Critical Incidents”, a drama that tells the story of a Laotian mother who struggles against internal ghosts and physical illness in a surreal journey.

She is passionate about amplifying unheard voices and telling their stories through film and powerful, emotional visuals. Her love for painting, reading, and learning can be found interwoven with her creative process and approach to each project. She is always seeking to work and collaborate with a diverse group of artists and shine a light on those who may go unnoticed.
